This is a history of two of the most unusual and intriguing clubs in Australia- the Melbourne Savage Club, founded in 1894, and the Yorick Club (1868-1966). Their contribution to the artistic, literary and social development of the nation has been immense, and both have numbered amongst their membership many outstanding Australians.
